A Warrant of Fitness (WOF) is a regular check to ensure your car meets New Zealand’s safety standards. It's a legal requirement for most vehicles on the road.



🔍 What We Check During a WOF

Our certified inspectors will assess your vehicle’s key safety systems, including:

  • Brakes and brake pads
  • Tyres (tread depth and condition)
  • Steering and suspension
  • Lights, indicators, and reflectors
  • Windscreen wipers and washers
  • Doors, windows, and mirrors
  • Seatbelts
  • Rust and structural integrity
  • Exhaust system
  • Speedometer and horn

If repairs are required, we’ll provide a quote and can usually carry out the work on the same day.


📅 How Often Do I Need a WOF?

  • Every 6 months – for vehicles first registered before 1 January 2000
  • Every 12 months – for vehicles first registered on or after 1 January 2000


Your next WOF due date will be on your current WOF label.


🛠 When Should Other Vehicle Systems Be Checked?

To maintain your vehicle's safety and performance, we recommend checking the following systems at regular intervals:

  • Braking Systems – every 15,000 km
  • Shock Absorbers – every 25,000 km
  • Exhaust Systems – every 20,000 km
  • Lubrication Systems (e.g., oil and filters) – every 10,000 km
